Pickens is the county seat of Pickens County, set in the foothills with Glassy Mountain to the east and Table Rock to the north. Properties here are often rolling and wooded, and many homes have more land than a typical suburban lot. A fiberglass pool is a practical way to add a pool to that kind of property quickly, with a finished surface that is easy to take care of.
Fiberglass on Rolling, Wooded Land
A fiberglass shell is delivered pre-formed and set by crane, so the main planning questions in Pickens are access and grade. We look at the driveway, tree cover, overhead lines and how far the shell needs to travel, then check how water drains across the yard so the pool sits level and runoff moves away from it. Before anything is ordered, you will see the pool in a 3D design rendering.
We install shells from the Tallman Pools collection, including models with tanning ledges, benches and attached spas. Because the shell is finished at the factory, construction is shorter and less affected by weather than a fully site-built pool.
Permits in Pickens
Inside city limits, permits are issued by the City of Pickens through its permit portal, with permits picked up at City Hall on Pendleton Street. The city’s permitting requirements exempt only small, shallow above-ground pools, so an inground pool needs a building permit. Addresses outside city limits are permitted by Pickens County Building Codes. We prepare the plans, submit the application and coordinate inspections.
