Mauldin sits right between Greenville and Simpsonville, along US 276 where I-385 and I-185 meet. It is one of the most established parts of the Golden Strip, and many backyards here sit on rolling ground, some backing up to creeks and wooded buffers. That mix of older lots and newer neighborhoods is exactly where a custom gunite pool makes sense, because the shell is shaped on site to fit the yard you have instead of a factory mold.
Building a Gunite Pool on a Mauldin Lot
Most of our Mauldin conversations start with the same questions: how much of the yard the pool will take, how it will drain, and how equipment will get to the back of the lot. We walk the property first, look at grade, existing trees, utility lines and how the pool will sit relative to the house, then build a 3D design rendering so you can see the pool, spa and water features in place before anything is dug.
Because gunite is formed from steel rebar and pneumatically applied concrete, it handles the things Mauldin lots tend to throw at you. A yard that drops toward a creek can take a raised spa with a spillover. A narrow lot can take a long, clean geometric pool. A wide, flat yard can take a freeform pool with a tanning ledge and beach entry.
Permits in the City of Mauldin
For addresses inside city limits, residential building permits are issued by the City of Mauldin’s Building and Zoning office, with applications handled through Business and Development Services on East Butler Road. Addresses outside city limits that still carry a Mauldin mailing address are permitted by Greenville County instead. We confirm which office applies to your address, prepare the drawings, and handle the application and inspections so you do not have to.
